Günter Nooke, personal G8 Representative of the Federal Chancellor in charge of African Affairs(© picture-alliance) The personal representative of the Federal Chancelor in charge of G8 and African Affairs, Günter Nooke, visited Cameroon from 20 to 22.05.2013. He was accompanied by representatives of German companies. The main goal of his visit was to strengthen bilateral economic co-operation between Germany and Cameroon. Günter Nooke held talks with the president of the republic Paul Biya and prime minister Philemon Yang as well as other members of the Cameroonian government.
He also took part in the ceremonial adoption of a feasibility study between the German company Ferrostaal and the Cameroonian oil and gas company NHC. Ferrostaal projects to build a plant to produce fertilizers using natural gas. Upon its completion the plant will be the biggest German private investment in sub-saharan Africa.
